you might wanna talk about that under ''AFL 2012". I've seen on the TV that concrete has been poured for apart of the first floor seating area. The rest of the ground at the moment is really congested and the price of food is crap  .

Having a look at KP on the preseason cup telecast. The fox sports team has done the right thing and given an obliging nod to stadium nerds.

The extended Angela Merkel stand is actually a bit of a monster. While not a huge capacity it's a steep gradient. From side on it appears very large, but from the kick ins looking straight at it, it's just a wall.

Once the stadium is complete it'll join the likes of Millenium Stadium and Celtic Park - impressive first rate venues which, if your only experience of seeing their respective cities was from seeing their stadiums on television, you'd be none the wiser that the cities are complete sh*t holes.

Yeah I like the design, beautiful steep rake on it. Only thing preventing perfection is the seat pattern - what would look great is all navy seats with CATS or GEELONG spelt out in white. Otherwise, 9/10, would bang.

What's the go with the diagonal cut out section in the front left hand corner?

The go is it's odd.

I think it's because of the gradient mismatch between it and the hickey stand. There'll be seating in front of it I think.

First event under lights and with the new stand is this Saturday I got my ticket to the game in the players stand right behind the goals.
The game is sold out so it should be good.

I'm not sure I like the shape of the lights, I can see that they tie in with the roof design....but meh

I think they look nice, but they also have that "desperate to flip over some eggs" look which'd surely have to sh*t you over the years.

Stand look great... would be a lovely stadium if it's ever developed as per WC plans

The new stand is a monster, I love it. Unforunately though the gap between the new stand and the Angela Merkel stand has this totally houso colourbond wall filling a gap at the top. You just have to wonder how something that cheap and nasty makes it through alongside such a nice design.

The stand also looks much better with people in it, as it covers up the vomit style seating colour arrangement. This sort of vomit design doesn't work at all on a steep gradient. On a shallow one like Central Coast Stadium it works, on a steep rake it's just nasty.

Bring on the rest of the development. Geelong is a powerhouse of the competition with its lead measured in years.

Is the plan for Geelong to play all their home games their in future?

I should hope so.

Collingwood, Hawthorn, Essendon and most finals will continue to be played at the MCG due to the larger capacity of the ground over Kardinia Park. I also heard Geelong City Council (the owners of the stadium) wants the Brownlow stand, Club Cats and the Ron Hovey room rebuilt by 2018 with a similar stand to the one just built.
