Impressed the NRL is actually chipping in. Don't think they've ever done it before for a stadium.

My big hope is this thing will have a heavy duty roof. It's pretty much the only chance NQ has in the A-League, if we go back there.

Re: New NQL Stadium
You should also note that this will not be just any ordinary stadium but a SUPER stadium!
Funny, but I thought a super stadium would be more something like this - http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ear ... l-stadium/ which has an estimated cost of US$1.4b, not AUD$200m.
But hey, what do I know - I'm not a Queensland politician trying to get elected.

Re: New NQL Stadium
Maybe they mean the stadium's being funded by a super fund.

Re: New NQL Stadium
Campbell Newman is worse at keeping promises than Abbott. They'll get back in and he'll say 'oh, I clearly only meant that we'd fund the stadium if the budget found itself $50bn in surplus after twelve months. Didn't you get that inference?'.
Won't happen.
Won't happen.

KAP want Labor election pledge to tip in $100m for the stadium dropped. Money should only be spent on productive infrastructure they say.

Re: New NQL Stadium
So we've just had an election where the practice of govts saying one thing before an election and then doing the opposite after they win has been roundly rejected by voters - and Katter wants the Labor party do exactly that.gyfox wrote:KAP want Labor election pledge to tip in $100m for the stadium dropped.
