Burswood Dome, Glory's new home next year.

99% sure that Perth Glory will be playing at the Burswood Dome, while NIB Stadium is getting redeveloped.

For those at home, it means having a casino across the road from the stadium and a cracking atmosphere. Today's 12,358 people would have made a cracking noise in a 13,600 seat venue...

The season after we will be back at NIB Stadium.

What are the dimensions inside the dome? I find this surprising.

118m x 74m on the floor. We discussed this a few eyars ago. They can fit. But isn't the Dome due for a date with the wrecking ball?

If it happens, I imagine all the permanent seating is the near and far stand of the bottom photo at the above link. Any seats behind the goals for the Shed? I wonder what surface they'll go for.

Sage likes gambling, would have had a chat to Packer. No real issue in keeping the venue open for another year, especially with 14 events booked and with none of the noise issues such as concerts for surrounding residents.

I got told last night its a three sided stadium, but it will be a mystery to all of us what it looks like come next season.

3m runoff at each sideline, 6.5m at each end. The ends will be 1m, closer than Hindmarsh, and the sides will be 3m closer.

I'd really like to see this. And the accoustics in a small domed stadium would be extraordinary

Sounds interesting... kinda hope it goes ahead.

What type of turf are they proposing?

I'd rather see this proposal rather than the Curtin University hockey stadium...

What's the dome like in summer? Is it ventilated or does it get stinking hot in there?

That would make for a full 10 on the Hindmarsh Stadium Experience Index in a quantitative sense, but I just can't shake the feeling that it'd feel like a big green star trek convention.

Burswood is air conditioned. Has a train station across the road and loads of parking. On major arterial roads as well

That'd be the Perth fans.

Well its either the Dome or Subiaco Oval...

No alternatives. And there is noway I'd want to spend a season at the shithole...

Sage has picked the Dome.

I would have said Arena Joondalup... but that's a fair hike from town, innit?
