French Rugby League Grounds

Post by mono_mal »

Would anyone have links to websites where i may be able to obtain pictures of French Rugby League grounds. Particularly the home grounds of Elite One Clubs the Pia Donkeys, Villenue Leapords, UTC, Toullousse Spacers and St Gaudens Bears.
Much appreciated.

I've tried myself mono. It is too difficult.

Best thing I could do was go to http://www.infostreize.com and follow the club links. You don't see the whole stadium but some pictures do give you an idea of what they look like. Also on that website, if you go to the Gallery of the Lord Derby Cup finals you can see some pictures of Stade Albert Domec in Carcassonne, home of the legendary Puig Aubert.

The only other thing I can find is at http://www.worldstadiums.com There you can click the links to France and PAris and find Charelty Stadium (home of defunct RSL club PSG) and Stade des Minimes in Toulouse which has hosted the odd French international.

Mono,

This is my first time on this forum, so forgive me for replying about a year after your post, but I've got a couple of photos of Lezignan's home ground which I can email you if you tell me your address.

I was driving around there last year, recognised the place as a rugby league town, got directions to the ground from a local and forced my mates to drive out a of the way to have a look. There wasn't much to see (it was the middle of summer after all), but it made this rugby league nut very happy, especially the big billboard outside the ground that said "100 ANS DE RUGBY" (100 years of rugby) with a collage of past and present players. My mates thought I was crazy!

Paris was a blunder. Thankfully the new club will be based in Perpignan, right in the heartlands of Rugby Treize.

Excellent!

Hopefully it will have the same effect as the Warriors in NZ.

So, is this French team non-existent now?

Not by any stretch. They enter in 2006. I guess I forgot to say that earlier.

They are looking to play at Stade Aime Giral. The RU side plays there but I think it is Council owned.

Looks like a fairly modern, intimate stadium. But, what is with the fence?
