My favourite stadium, although perhaps not the most beautiful one I've ever seen, is Camp Nou. I remember the first time I saw it when I was a little boy, it seemed so big and impressive to me. It might be a bit oldish now, but I still attach a huge sentimental value to it. In fact, my passion for football (and fc Barca!) started there; plus it's in Barcelona, one of the world's most beautiful cities. I even like the souvenir shop next to it, even though it's a bit cheesy ;)

Is Green Point Stadium a rectangle or an ovalish shape?

It's rectangular but long enough for RU (looks to be about the same length as Twickenham). Wikipedia says that after the WC the capacity will be reduced from 68k to 55k but apparently it has no long term tennants signed up for the future. So it's a well planned stadium.

RU won't move from Newlands...

The stadium was built in one of the richest areas of Cape Town. I have no idea why they built the venue from scratch...

The stands along the side have a slight curve to enhance sight lines.

I'm a fan of that feature. A few grounds have it - the SFS springs to mind.

Green Point was insane. They should have just used Newlands.

its always the way when you build a rectangular stadium in an oval / circle, although the bowl inside looks very curved inside, at the corners...proberbly making way for AFL in SA!

^ Is that your camera or was it really that dark? I've been to night RL games there and the light didn't appear as dark.
