-----------

Pretty cool how they've taken a suburban oval and turned it into a pop-up 10,000 seat cricket ground.

The strides taken by Cricket Ireland - in the middle of a crippling recession no less - are quite remarkable. It's an impressive ground they have there for future large fixtures. Coupled with the smaller Clontarf Cricket Club (3,000) in Dublin and Stormont (6,000) in Belfast which have permanent fixtures they are establishing some quality cricketing venues in their two strongest cricketing centres.

They've laid out a road-map for tests by 2020 and these venues have to go a long way towards helping.

Unexciting development.

I'm a bit of a romantic. I love the Gaelic language and cultural revival going on in Ireland.

It's not an anti English thing. Nor anti cricket as such.

Looks a bit like Lilac Hill. Basically just a clubhouse with a bunch of scaffold stands.

BTW yob, what the hell are you talking about?
