He will always be remembered for pulling himself off the ground and screaming FAAAAAAAAAARK YEEEEEEEEEAH after one of Uruguay's penalty misses.

One of Australia's greats that's for sure, but not as dignified an ending as one would have hoped.

And no Galekovic for the upcoming friendly? Boo!

Interesting game this morning. We played good fluent football against a team that always struggles away from home and had a number of its better players sitting on the bench. As a result we led 3 zip at half time. Ecuador made a couple of personnel changes and tweaked their system and began to run riot. After 13 minutes on the pitch as a half time replacement Langerak had a brain fart to earn a straight red card trying to clear a very poor back pass from Jedinak who after a good first half was finding himself constantly behind the play. Ecuador slotted the penalty away and suddenly from a comfortable 3-0 lead the score was 3-2 and we had to last for half an hour a man down. We didn't thanks in the main to a tiring midfield and another poor pass from Jedinak that led to Ecuador's 3rd goal and a bad mistake from Wilkinson that gifted Ecuador the winner with a minute to go in time added on. Some good signs in the first half was negated by some naive play in the second half and an inability to hold on to the ball. I'm sure AP will do a lot of work on the defensive structure leading in to the World Cup but the worrying thing is that our 3 opponents there are all better than Ecuador.

How Brad Jones gets the nod is beyond me. This guy has had a 15 year professional football career of either not playing football or being loaned out to other clubs to not play football. 7 loan spells for 42 league appearances. Not a bad decade's work if you can get it.

Why does Langerak get a gig? 14 starts in the top side in 4 years in Europe is hardly indicative of a player of international quality. Even if you add his 22 starts in 2 years for Victory its not much of a career.
