Re: AFL 2013
Perhaps, though, the most galling incident of the weekend came at the MCG on Saturday night, when a middle-aged woman was harassed, humiliated, and eventually stripped of a small token protest about the handling of the Essendon drugs episode.
Her small cardboard sign read: ''AFL can take whatever it wants, but it can't take our passion.'' Unbelievably, two MCG security staff demanded she remove it.
After being rightly howled down each time they attempted to confiscate the sign, police, even more incredibly, were called in. Spectators nearby were told by security staff that the instruction to get rid of the sign came from the AFL.
For a brief moment, the MCG might have been Lenin Stadium in the mid-1960s.
What an appalling look for an organisation that increasingly comes across to its public as dismissive, uncaring and wallowing in its wealth and power. The dictionary definition of integrity reads: ''adherence to moral and ethical principles''. Far too often lately, the AFL's own definition seems to have a sub-clause which reads: ''when it suits us''.

^^ Rohan Connolly... Essendon* bleeder
Been hanging sh*t on the AFL every chance he gets because they didn't allow his Bummers* and St James* to cheat and get away with it.
btw... the decision to remove the sign of the lady was a MCG security issue and not AFL... as he's conceded on radio

It's up there, close to the gestapo at Football Park confiscating a woman's camera for taking a photo of her kid in Auskick.

"In my line of work, we do things that cross a certain line or boundary, but this is beyond – it ventures into criminal kind of stuff."
It was reported that Johnston – who is also a wrestler – has pulled out of an upcoming engagement with Professional Championship Wrestling as a result of the incident.
"He's a performer who relies on his self-esteem and confidence to be able to perform at events like this," a Professional Championship Wrestling spokesperson told the program.

How much gold can you get. St Kilda player sets a midget on fire. Vlad loses it on air. Just the fact that there's a company called "Dwarf my Party." It's too much gold for me to handle.

Re: AFL 2013
Some observations from tonight:
Collingwood player Heath Shaw: The umpire effects mic picked him up sledging Angus Monfries, a former Essendon player, saying "how are things at Essendon going? (garble) going to get kicked out of the game!" (subsequently misquoted by the commentators as having said he was kicked out of Essendon)
Collingwood player Heath Shaw: during this stroke of genius, almost single handedly getting Collingwood kicked out of the finals gifting goals to the opposition - and still wanting to go on with it either side of the goal being kicked.
This is the same guy who's been suspended for betting on games, getting whiped out in drunk driven vehicles. Surely the biggest moron in the game at the moment.
Goal review system: video footage of the goal review process showing the official not analysing all the available videos. The comentators felt he missed the most important one. Overall the system is still f***ing useless.
Eddie Mcguire. The look on his face toward the end of the game, and also after when standing at the boudary fence. He looked like someone shot bambi - then raped bambi.
Nathan Buckley. How long did he take to leave his seat in the coaches box after the final siren? 10 minutes? Gold!!!
Crowd just over 50,000, including a very good contingent of Paa supporters. Where were the other 30,000 Collingwood members?

Re: AFL 2013
In my channel surfing I noticed one of the presenters saying they shouldn't be in the finals because they finished 9th, and they shouldn't have been 9th because of an incorrect goal umpiring decision the week before.
This just makes me want them to win it all.
Except that I dropped my money on Freo 4 months ago

Re: AFL 2013
Another edition of communism.
Dustin Martin crosses his wrists in the match as a salute to a friend or relo in jail.
The latest victimless crime to be punished by the AFL. $2,000.
The response is amazing.
Luke Darcy has slammed him in the media, suggesting that his behaviour was selfish, particularly because after scoring the goal he didn't play very well for the rest of the game. This despite there being no indication it's either any of his damned business, or that he has any authority on the matter.
The AFL explains with its rool professional voice that other people have done it but they've arbritrarily decided to punish him despite not having broken any rule or law. And AFL fans seem to be okay with this.
Grow up you babies.

Re: AFL 2013
AFL culture on display today.
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/c ... 2tlkx.html
1) player who suffers constant brain explosions - banned for 2 months over alcohol fuelled car incident, banned for months over betting on football, puts himself above the team and unloads on Angus Monfries in an elimination final, giving away 2 goals at a crucial time in the contest.
2) Player who is alleged to be flaunting the code's recreational drugs policy, involved in an alcohol fuelled public brawl that left a security guard brain damaged.
3) Player, who is black, who criticised Eddie Mcguire for calling Adam Goodes King Kong, and publicly revealed he's struggling to come to terms with experiencing sexual abuse and fighting mental health issues.
You have to be an outright bogan to group those 3 together.
Culture change at Collingwood. Try culture change in aussie rules. Bogan game.

That is one hell of a grouping there. We've got"When you put culture on the table like Nathan has there’s no coming back from it," King told AFL 360.
"There’s no 'okay, we’ve passed a couple of players on in (Andrew) Didak and (Darren) Jolly and if (Dale) Thomas goes, Thomas goes you have to make decisions to change culture, you have to force the change.
Is this the last time Heath Shaw walked off the ground for Collingwood? dejected after the Elimination Final loss.

"That’s not a free agency decision for someone to leave, that’s Nathan taking control of this football club and it’s going to take some big decisions.
"I can’t wait to see what he does because you know what if Nathan doesn’t act, if Nathan doesn’t move on a Shaw, a Swan, an O’Brien then he says they’re not the problem. If they’re not the culture problem, then where is it ?"

Re: AFL 2013
yob, every other major sporting league in the world is exactly like this. Fowler got punished for sniffing the sideline. Bosnich got punished for the Hitler salute. In the NFL, you can be punished for excessive celebration. Try running your own political agenda at an Olympic Games and see how long you last.yob wrote:Another edition of communism.

If you think it's in the AFL's interests for players to go around saluting criminals on the field then you've completely lost it. The punishment (which was 100% suspended) was basically saying 'stop being a dickhead'.

Re: AFL 2013
The way aussie rules fans leap to the defence of the AFL much resembles a cult. Basically what happens is the human mind makes one small rationalisation after another, each building upon another, so that eventually they become passionate defenders of what normal people see as complete bat sh*t craziness. Then the wake up call comes, and with an objective mind they look back 20 years and think "fk me, I owe people a few cartons worth of wanker tax after that sh*t."
