I think the strategy of including the Argentine and Asian team in the SA conferences is a similar marketing strategy to selling sh*t DVDs. Namely, if you need to offload a collection that contains extremely sh*t movies like Beaches, you sell it as a bundle with Star Wars.

Here is a more straight forward competition structure:AndrewM wrote:Clear as mud? I am keen on the NRC but this is confusing to say the least..

Re: Super Rugby 2014
Question from someone who doesn't know much of the rules/conventions.
When a player is injured does (can) the referee stop play, or do they wait for the ball to go out of bounds? And do the players kick the ball out to cause a stoppage ala football?
Just noticed during Blues/chiefs that a player went down clearly seriously injured, and the game going on around him with about 3 different instances where the play could have run the guy over. That's just bull sh*t.

Well at the end of the day I chucked the game in a multi to make it interesting. So that makes one person who gave a f**k, ever.

It's not that no-one follows the game, it's that even the hard core fans don't even know what the f**k is going on. I've been to a couple of Force games with a mate that thinks he knows the game well, but 80% of the decisions made by the ref has him shrugging his shoulders.

Re: Super Rugby 2014
The problem I find with Rugby, especially if the ball is caught up with 10-20 players around it - ie pretty standard forward plays, you can't see what the bloody hell is going on most of the time.
I mean, how many times have you seen a ball miraculously come out of a ruck? Of course no one used their hands to make it pop out

But when the forwards in the plays are mystified by the rules, it's clearly either that the forwards are too dumb, the rules are too complex or the referees are too inconsistent (which also hints that the rules are too complex).

Re: Super Rugby 2014
If the forward ruck/maul area was cleaned up and you had a game revolving around passing, running and tackling you would be left with rugby league - and no-one wants that...dibo wrote:But when the forwards in the plays are mystified by the rules, it's clearly either that the forwards are too dumb, the rules are too complex or the referees are too inconsistent (which also hints that the rules are too complex).

Re: Super Rugby 2014
Been a great season to become a Force member again. Really enjoyed it and it has been cheap as chips compared to A-League membership.
Big game in a few weeks!
