Re: NRL 2014
I went out to watch GI smash the turkeys..I understand that it was the Bunnies turn to host the home game but FFS it should of been at the SFS...it would of been a packed house.
Purple cheats made Manly look ordinary in the second half.
Panthers look very encouraging.
Tigers, Saints and Parra to fight out for the spoon again.
And I don't really care about the rest
And this week in league is back on..( the best RL podcast in the world,)
The first round makes it a bit hard to read regarding the outcome of the year.
fearless prediction.
Bunnies Panthers GF....I'm calling it already

Re: NRL 2014
cant help but notice the lack of discussion on the SOO....this forum needs to harden the f**k up....that was an amazing game.
and yes I understand the irony of mentioning this 4 days after the event.

Re: NRL 2014
Brilliant NRL game on Saturday Night at NIB Stadium.
The best I have been to. Still prefer Union, but the game was much better than the previous NRL matches I have been to. Sat in the middle of the field, behind the players so could appreciate the skill a lot more.
Over 20,000 at the ground which bodes well for Rugby League's future.

Now we just have to wait and see for Perth to be awarded the 17th NRL club license

Re: NRL 2014
Meh to Perth. Start up 3 or 4 regionals in Queensland to harden it the f**k up in Queensland a bit, then look at expanding.

Re: NRL 2014
After hearing the reaction from sections of the public to Melbourne getting another State of Origin game next year, do fans of the NSWRL really want further expansion?

Re: NRL 2014
Why would a game between the NSW and Qld representative teams be played anywhere else but Qld or NSW? SOO games are about State honour so I'm not sure that Victorians or anyone else can buy into that part of the games. If there is a need to play special games in other locations to help an expansion process then Test Matches are a more appropriate vehicle in my view.

Re: NRL 2014
Melbourne likely has large enough NSW/QLD diaspora that playing the fixture there is serving a demand. Further, it neutralises the fixture which fixes the underlying inequality of a 3 match tie. Good compromise IMO.
That said, I'd prefer the first two fixtures be played home and away, and the tie breaker played at the neutral venue. If I gave a f**k about origin.

Re: NRL 2014
Victorians don't like NSW, mainly driven by the Sydney Melbourne thing. and the storm is defacto QLD anyhow, and Melbourne likes buying sporting events.
