Kuznetsova will be a challenge for Stosur. But if she doesn't go into a power contest, rather a game of good shots she definitely has a chance of winning.
What a win for Australia if our first women's grand slam title for many a year was a French Open...very unpredictable.
I would suspect media attention on Stosur will increase if she wins through the semi finals.

Re: Tennis 2008
The next TA election will be very interesting. I quite like MacNamee. He seems to have the 21st century world view Pollard doesn't.
A lot of allegations and imputations last night. The big ones were against Harold Mitchell and Ashley Cooper. I think people are entitled to have a beef with TA. Our good junior result are not translating on the proper tour; the Plexicushion change was a massive hyped up, cash-grab wank; coaches are getting pushed out including some of our most successful like Roche and Cahill.
What will come of it I'm not sure but given TA's financial position, they have few excuses left. I'm not saying we should be the world beaters of the 1950s and 1960s - tennis is a much bigger game thatn that these days but it is sh*t to have only one player in each top 50 singles.

We actually have a tennis stadium to use as well, no using a corner of QSAC this time around for Brisbane.

Re: Tennis 2008
The clay court on Pat Rafter Arena looked fantastic! Took around three days to make and will take three to dismantle.
This video has a time-lapse video of the clay court being laid:

To be fair, the Four Corners video did project a very one-sided view of things.

Re: Tennis 2008
Putting Todd Woodbridge on the spot was a bit harsh but the report did reveal some importantr points that should be addressed.
There is a new man at the top now. We'll see what happens.

So much sport on at the moment is squeezing out Sam Stosur's rise to the Quarter Final. Hopefully she gets greater coverage as she proceeds into the quarter final of the French Open...
