WA also had a couple of nominees for book week. One kid with black makeup went as Nic Naitanui, and another had a powdered up nose to be Ben Cousins.
My name is Dr. Worm.
Good morning. How are you? I'm Dr. Worm.
I'm interested in things.
I'm not a real doctor,
But I am a real worm;
I am an actual worm.
I live like a worm.
I like to play the drums.

I still don't get this extremely tenuous link between dressing up as a footballer for Book Week. Does anyone ever take these kid's parents aside and ask WTF? Maybe someone does, takes one look at them and then realises the futility of it all. Are the back pages of The West the only reading material these kids ever get to read? Maybe it's not even that, just the Sport section of Seven news.

The Ben Cousins kid had a copy of his autobiography - but yeah not exactly the culture we should be scared of disappearing
