The proposed redevelopment of Members Equity Stadium has been confirmed, however it will not be started within the next 12 months.

CEO of the Town of Vincent John Giorgi stated that the government is committed to building Members Equity Stadium once it can see that the 25,000 crowd levels are justified.

Giorgi explained to Austadiums.com that the Western Force held the ace cards on the Members Equity Stadium redevelopment, while stating that the Government is committed to redeveloping Members Equity Stadium when they can see that the demand for 25,000 seats is there.

"Members Equity Stadium redevelopment might not commence for at least the next 12 months"

"As soon as the crowds are justified at 25,000, the government is committed to building the stadium"

"Western Force haven't spoken to us, and they are still hoping for 32,000....The Government has told them no way will they go straight to 32,000"

"Western Force are going to be a major player...the oval stadia is going to be many years away, it would be at least 5 years away".

However, Perth Glory crowds are expected by both the Football Federation of Australia and Town of Vincent to increase this year and this would put further pressure on the redevelopment according to Giorgi.

"FFA are putting strategies to increase the spectator numbers in Perth...if they start to get 15-16,000 that will put pressure on the state government to build it"

"I expect the average crowd to be between 12-14,000 this year"

Giorgi also stated doubts on whether or not the Force crowd would sustain at 25,000.

"Western Force fans will tire of going to Subiaco...strong possibility they won't sustain 25,000"

"Western Force run the risk, if they don't win any games...they will go the way of the Western Reds"

"Privately the Western Force are looking at accepting anything around the 30,000 mark"

While temporary measures for this season are looking at installing temporary shade cloths on the Eastern and Southern sides and even increasing the standard of lighting at the ground.

"We've been asked to look at some temporary redevelopments...we are looking at lighting levels and shade levels"

"We're just looking at improving spectators comfort...The shades would be on the Eastern and Southern stands...a temporary structure"

While the new video screen that was in placed in the middle of the eastern stand for the recent Australia v Brazil Soccer Game, is now owned by the Town of Vincent and will be permanently in place in the eastern stand for all sporting fans to enjoy.

"The new TV monitors (video screen) belong to the town...they donated those as Members Equity could see that it was of benefit to them."
