Telstra Dome Video Targets Overseas Visitors

In an innovative move to help attract new events, especially from overseas, Melbourne's Telstra Dome is currently finalising a new promotional video that provides a snapshot of the facility and its origins.

Susan Wood general manager of communications at Telstra Dome, told On Sport that they introduced the video in 2002 but are now shooting a re-branded version to cover the name change from Colonial Stadium to Telstra Dome in July 2002 (see issue 25).

She said the new video will also be of much higher quality as it will be shot on 'high definition', ensuring picture quality wherever it is played.

Wood pointed out that they distribute the video to potential users of the Dome to help close the deal.

She said it works particularly well with overseas parties who do not know anything about the facility, including Jesse James Leija, who recently fought Kostya Tszyu in a multimillion dollar boxing match at the Dome.
