Adelaide Oval redevelopment goes ahead

Austadiums • Tuesday 22nd October 2002
South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) members have given Stage One of the Adelaide Oval redevelopment the go-ahead.

The major benefits of the redevelopment, which is due to be complete in time for the World Cup Rugby 2003, include:

- Construction of two new, covered grandstands on the eastern side of the Oval, with a combined seating capacity of about 4,700.

- Construction of a south mound stand with a seating capacity of about 950.

- Installation of a permanent video replay screen.

- Construction of a 300-seat members' dining room on level 3 of the Bradman Stand.

The redevelopment will see the members' reserve extended to include all of the covered seating in the Edwin Smith and Bradman Stands. This 40% increase in reserved seating will enable Adelaide Oval membership to increase accordingly - enabling many members of the public to be offered membership earlier than anticipated.
