The Gold Coast Aquatic Centre has been fully redeveloped in preparation for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games during which time it'll be known as the Optus Aquatic Centre. The Centre has six pools, including a new 50 metre 10-lane competition pool, a full suite of diving facilities and a dry dive training pit, fully equipped fitness centre, onsite café and multi-function meeting rooms.

The Aquatic Centre will have temporary grandstands during the Commonwealth Games to cater for 10,000 fans.
