Drummoyne Oval
Drummoyne Oval is a multi-use sports oval situated on the banks of the Parramatta River, in the Sydney inner-west suburb of Drummoyne. The venue is primarily used for cricket, but also plays host to Australian football and has previously hosted rugby league and union as well. Back in 1932 and 1933, the Balmain Tigers played their NSWRL home matches at the venue.
The venue received a $13.8 million development completed in 2013 which included the installation of six 50m light towers suitable for televised night matches, a new small grandstand and electronic scoreboard. Other facilities at Drummoyne include a pavilion, undercover grandstand and a grass hill that stretches almost half-way the ground, with a total capacity of 5,500. The first ever first-class cricket match was played at the ground in February 2003 when NSW played Tasmania in the domestic one day competition, attracting a sell-out crowd. Since then it has held various domestic fixtures including Women's BBL matches, while AFL pre-season and AFLW matches have also been played at the venue.
