not world class but i have been for the annual PM's XI cricket match and it's kinda good but the facilities are crap. Haven't been for AFL matches so cannot comment.

As stated previously, it's a difficult ground to rate, because I doubt this is the kind of stadium that this site intended to rate when it started up. This is a suburban ground - although the dearth of oval grounds in Canberra means this place has to do a lot more than it should. The viewing is ok, unless it's packed - anything over about 10,000 people, and you don't want to be standing on that hill. The other thing I hate about it is that you look into the sun all afternoon standing on the hill. But, you're so close to the ground, it has everything - and contrary to what someone else said, I love how short lines to this place are because, if you look hard enough, you'll find a beer tent and a toilet that no one is using because its either hidden or its "too far". Best part of this place is the access - Manuka is a great area, it's surrounded by pubs, cafes and restaurants for after the match, and there isn't usually enough people there that parking or public transport becomes a problem.

overdue for a upgrade so more AFL/Cricket games can be played and is definightly not world class as you can tell from the pictures

This is a nice stadium, it has easy access and a great view of cricket and AFL matches. I'm not too keen on the portable toilets and long lines to get food and drink. there's good space outside of the stand for kids to kick a ball though.

A hard one to review. Its a beautiful ground in a charming part of the capital which does its job of hosting local sports and exhibition games nicely. Now the old ground is being asked to step up to being an AFL standard and Test Cricket standard and it just isn't. And to bring it up to that standard will destroy a lot of the charm of the ground. Public transport is fine and car access is great (not great parking for really big events - it is located in the middle of a very busy suburb). The facilities are pretty rudimentary for an AFL stadium... I remember a lot of marquee tents at certain events there - its that sort of place, exhibition ground not a week in week out venue. Overall, beautiful but will become tiresome for fans season-long. NB. the first ever NSL game was held here in 1977. First ever goal scored by a teenage unknown called John Kosmina!

Alot more Cricket Stadiums, oval in general, should have sum sort of lighting to light up the pitch up at night. Some stadiums are Belrive Oval and Manuka Oval.

Great for a city with a small population. Not up with the technology but that comes down to lack of sport played on the ground.

I don't beleive that Manuka Oval is up to AFL standards at all. Not to mention that this 3rd rate paddock is the home of AFL in our nations capital. The Kangaroos have played several home games at the venue since 1999 but those days are now over as of yesterdays game. Poor attendences have been the problem, if AFL want to succed in Canberra it's going to take more than Manuka to solve that problem.
