MCG Redevelopment commences

Austadiums • Sunday 29th September 2002
The first tanglible signs of the MCG Redevelopment project were evident yesterday as the Ponsford Stand was prepared for demolition. MCC staff, removalists and caterers were among those on hand to remove chairs, fittings, paintings and other items to be stored off-site until the project is completed. The Members Dining Room, scoreboard, cricket changerooms and indoor nets are just some of the facilities to disappear when demolition begins. The partial closure of Brunton Avenue has taken effect and access to the Ponsford Stand is now restricted to those involved in the contruction.
