Darebin International Sports Centre
The Darebin International Sports Centre (DISC) is located at John Cain Memorial Park in Thornbury. The multi-sport facility is home of the State Lawn Bowls Centre, State Cycling Centre and State Football Centre. The venue hosted the lawn bowls competition for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games. DISC is owned and maintained by the Darebin City Council and key facility user groups, Football Federation Victoria, Cyclesport Victoria and Darebin City Bowls Club.
The State Lawn Bowls Centre features four floodlit grass international standard lawn bowls greens including fixed grandstand seating for 400 spectators and an indoor synthetic bowls green.
The Joe Ciavola Velodrome, also known as the State Cycling Centre, is a 250 metre indoor banked timber cycling track with grandstand seating for 500 spectators.
The State Football Centre features three international standard synthetic football pitches with lighting. Located adjacent within the same precinct is the home of Northcote City NPL Vic club, which is called John Cain Memorial Park.
Located adjacent to the Joe Ciavola Velodrome is the new Narrandjeri Stadium - an indoor multi-sports facility with four courts, including a showcourt providing spectators with over 300 fixed seating.
