Olympic Village

Olympic Village

Olympic Park at Heidelberg, commonly referred to as Olympic Village, is a rectangular football ground located in Heidelberg, in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. The venue was originally built in 1956 at what was the athletes village for the Melbourne Olympics and served as the official warm-up venue for athletes. It is now home of NPL Victoria side Heidelberg United and as well as state league matches, it has hosted several FFA Cup clashes in front of big crowds including Melbourne City in front of 11,372 fans in 2015.

During 2019/20, the venue has been upgraded which has included the removal of the athletics track and converting it into a rectangular field, with spectator areas now located behind each of the goals. Stage 2 will include new 500 lux lighting, upgrade to the grandstand, car parking behind grandstand, new electronic scoreboard and two synthetic pitches.

The ground features a main grandstand with seating for 1,000 as well as undercover standing room. Opposite this is another smaller stand with further undercover standing room. A grass hill surrounds the rest of the pitch and the estimated capacity of the venue is 12,000. Player facilities are located at the northern end.
