Casey Fields

Casey Fields is a 70 hectare multi-sport facility located in Melbourne's outer south-east at Cranbourne East. The first stage opened in April 2006 and included the main oval at a cost $4.2 million and over 2,000 fans watched the Casey Scorpions defeat the Box Hill Hawks in the first game. The record crowd for the ground is 10,099 for a pre-season AFL match between Hawthorn and Essendon in March 2007. It continues to host the Casey Demons VFL matches and Melbourne Demons AFLW matches. The Melbourne Football Club were briefly based at the facility from 2008 and have again been based there during Covid-19.

The primary oval includes a main grandstand with seating for 350 spectators, including 200 undercover, as well as a function room with a seating capacity of 120. The rest of the ground is surrounded by a grass hill with shading opposite the grandstand, with the total capacity of around the 10,000. The ground features lighting suitable for night matches and a video scoreboard. In 2020, an indoor training facility opened adjacent to the ground.

Also located at Casey Fields is two more oval grounds including one for Premier Cricket side Casey South Melbourne, an athletics track and rectangular fields for Rugby League/Union and Football. The Melbourne City FC moved to a new facility at Casey Fields in 2021, with the potential of a 4,000-capacity boutique stadium to be constructed. In the meantime, the club's women's team will host A-League Women matches on the main oval.
