The AFL has announced a price freeze on GA tickets for matches at the MCG and Marvel Stadium for the 2024 season, with tickets for rounds 1-15 going on sale Tuesday.

2024 marks the sixth year in a row that tickets have remained the same as the AFL continues its commitment to affordability by freezing general admission tickets at $27 for adult, $18 for concession, and $5 for children, while kids under four years old continue to be free.

Additionally, following a successful trial and then implementation in 2022 and 2023, the Family ticket, consisting of two Adults and two Children for $54 will be available at all home and away season games at both the MCG and Marvel Stadium.

There are 90 Home and Away matches spread across the two Melbourne stadiums (47 matches at the MCG, 43 matches Marvel Stadium) in 2024.

The AFL broke the all-time attendance record in 2023 with 8,076,630 spectators attending AFL matches across the entire season, at an average of 37,741 per game.

Tickets for MCG (Ticketek) and Marvel Stadium (Ticketmaster) matches, go on sale on Tuesday 27th February for Club and AFL Members, and will then go on sale to the General Public on Wednesday 28th February.

All 18 clubs set the ticket prices for their individual home and away matches, with the AFL establishing a commercial arrangement with the MCG and AFL owned Marvel Stadium on the general admission and family ticket prices at these venues.

The AFL sets all the ticket prices for the annual Gather Round and the Toyota AFL Finals Series.

An AFL spokesperson said, “In driving key commercial outcomes, it allows us to keep AFL matches affordable and accessible while also working with another of our key priorities to ensure our game continues to be at community level, where young boys and girls can play footy and participation is growing.

“Opening Round across NSW and Queensland has had great uptake from fans so far and I know come the Thursday night of Round One at the MCG, the precinct will be buzzing and hopefully more than 80,000 in attendance to see the Blues and Tigers.”
