Western Bulldogs unveil new name for Whitten Oval
Major partner of the Western Bulldogs, Mission Foods, has secured the official naming rights to the club’s Footscray headquarters.
The Club's home will be known as Mission Whitten Oval for at least the next five years, after being known as the VU Whitten Oval for several years in partnership with Victoria University.
Mission Foods is a long-time partner of the Western Bulldogs, but the partnership will enter a new era with the rebranding of Whitten Oval while forging towards a 20-year milestone by 2028.
It will mark the Bulldogs’ longest continuous major partner sponsorship in Club history.
“Our partnership with the Western Bulldogs is more than a sponsorship, it’s a testament to our shared values of passion, integrity and community”, said Mr Juan Gonzalez, CEO and President of Mission Foods.
“And it’s with immense pleasure and pride we embark on this significant milestone with Mission Foods representing the Western Bulldogs on the playing field and now at their home ground – Mission Whitten Oval. Together we look forward to creating lasting memories and inspiring the current and next generation of athletes”.
With a major redevelopment in its final stages, Mission Whitten Oval’s facilities will become the centrepiece of Melbourne’s west, a place where the Bulldogs community can connect with each other and their beloved Club.
Features of the redevelopment include a new EJ Whitten Stand, improved seating and facilities for spectators, new function room, administration offices, and community spaces, broadcast quality lighting and match day pavilion.
